OUR HISTORY
In the late 1980s, a group of concerned individuals formed Shelter From The Storm out of a desire to bring help to the Coachella Valley's abused women and children. Five years later, their early dream became a reality when our emergency shelter opened its doors to women and children fleeing violent homes, often in fear for their lives.
To this day, more than eighteen years later, our doors have never closed and the commitment of our founders remains steadfast. Shelter From The Storm is today one of the nation's largest service providers to abused women and children, offering a multiplicity of programs and services in keeping with our Mission Statement.
Shelter From The Storm is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation. Contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
